Buckaroo Stampede

Our church was part of a Buckaroo Stampede this last weekend in Kremmling. It was an event for adoptive families and then members of our church. The location was on some of the most gorgeous land in Colorado I've seen. Acres and acres of aspen, pine, fields, wildflowers and panoramic views. In the middle of it was a re-created Old West town called "Rose City." I really don't know all the details of who owned it or paid for it all, but whoever it was they put on quite the event. A carousel, horseback rides, a petting zoo (where evelyn held a bunny and kitten and now asks for both multiple times a day), pictures taken in an old stagecoach, stagecoach and covered wagon rides pulled by amazing black draft horses, free food, toys, and on and on. And it was all FREE. Yes! So we had a blast and afterwards we went camping with the Boyers. I was doubtful that we'd find a spot on saturday evening, but we did, and a private one at that. We had a perfect campfire with smores, the girls got along wonderfully and we got in some exercise with a good hike the next day. A very fun (and tiring) weekend indeed.
